- The Basics -

NOTE: All HTML tags use the <> brackets, instead of () parentheses. So when you go to try these tags I use below, replace the () parentheses with <> brackets.

Bold: (b)Tags For Bold Text(/b).
If you insert the brackets, the result is: Tags For Bold Text.
Italic: (i)Tags For Italic Text(/i).
If you insert the brackets, the result is: Tags For Italic Text.
Underline: (u)Tags For Underlined Text(/u).
If you insert the brackets, the result is: Tags For Underlined Text.

You may combine these for combined effects, for example: (b)(u)Tags For Bold And Underlined Text(/b)(/u)
If you insert the brackets, the result is: Tags For Bold And Underlined Text.

- Line Breaks And Paragraphs -

(br) and (p)

These two HTML codes are used to start a new line and new paragraph respectively. On a Boardhost board, like our Roleplay Board, pressing enter will do the same as (br). However, on a Guestbook board, like our Backup RP board, you MUST use one of the above to start a new line. And on Yahoo Clubs, like our OOC Board, you don't need to worry about ANY HTML at all.

- Font Effects -

CHANGING FONT COLOR

To change the color of text, use (font color="#hexcode")Different Colored Text Here(/font).
If I were to pick the hex code #A80000 and replace the brackets, the result would be: Different Colored Text Here.

To view a huge range of hexcodes, visit Webmoment's Color Chart.

Also, some basic colors can replace the hexcode. For example: This (font color="darkgreen")Can Work(/font) instead of (font color=#006400)this. Understand?(/font)
If the brackets were replaced, that would produce: This Can Work instead of this. Understand?

CHANGING FONT FACE

To change the font's face use (font face="fontname")Text In New Font(/font).
If I were to pick Times New Roman as my font and replace the brackets, the result would be: Text In New Font.

Font names can be found on your Hard Drive under the C:/windows/fonts/ folder, or you can download them from Acid Cool or Abstract Fonts. Be aware though that some "fancy" fonts will not be seen by people who don't have them. That's why there's a "font" section on the SWF site for any fonts you may use and want others to see. You e-mail your RP font to the webmaster(s) of this site for it to be included in the fonts section. Then other people can download those fonts to see your RP in all it's GLORY!!

CHANGING FONT SIZE

To change the font's size use (font face="fontsize")Sized Font(/font).
This text is currently size 1, so if I chose size 3 and replace the brackets, the result would be: Sized Font.

Any three of the above Font Effects can be combined in any way, shape, or manner. For example, you could try (font face="Arial" color=gold size=3)Gold, Size 3, Arial Text(/font).
If I were to replace the brackets, that would produce: For example, you could try Gold, Size 3, Arial Text.

- Extras -

IMAGES

To include an image that is uploaded somewhere on the internet, use (img src="http://nameofwebaddress").
So, if I insert the URL for a small SWF logo and replace the brackets, the result would be:

You can also add a few variables such as (img src="http://nameofwebaddress" height="number" width="number"), if you want a resized picture.
So, if I again insert the URL and set it at 50 pixels wide and 25 tall, and replace the brackets, the result would be:

LINKS

To include a link to a site, use (a href="http://nameofaddress")Site's Name(/a).
So, if I insert the SWF's main page and replace the brackets, the result is: SWF MAIN
You must include http:// and (/a) for it to work properly.
